Here’s a look at a fab wedding, which we’re pleased to say was featured in Brides Up North. Gavin had a blast as photographer for this charming day at Le Petit Chateau in rural Northumberland.
As newlyweds Katie and David dream of having a place of their own in France one day, Le Petit Chateau was the perfect location for them. They were one of the first couples to tie the knot in this French shabby chic themed venue. Gavin captured some amazing romantic shots!
The stunning bride, Katie, said to Brides Up North:
“I really wanted something that was beautiful and artistic as the professionally recorded memento of the day… I was after journalistic photos of the day, but also beautiful bridal photography. After seeing Gavin’s work online, I knew that was the right sort of feel so we met up with him, looked at his portfolio, felt really at ease with him and got him booked.”
Each detail of Katie and David’s big day was planned to make sure it represented the couple, their lives and personalities. An art nouveau and art deco botanical theme ran through the day. Jewel colours, inspirations from France and Italy, twinkly lights and lovely vintage style cut glassware all came together to create something magical.
The bride’s beautiful 1930s inspired wedding gown came from Glory Days Bridal in York. Based on an original design, Katie got to add her own ideas for her own perfect wedding dress.
Flowers and fairy lights covered almost every surface at Le Petit Chateau. Hydrangeas, sweet peas, red geraniums and purple petunias all added to the riot of colour. For added rustic charm, fragrant lavender and basil filled old wooden wine boxes. Secret Garden in Newcastle were the florists for the day, with additional greenery being foraged by David’s mum!
Extra style was added by the 1930s Beauford, hired from AB Wedding Cars in Newcastle. And the day would not have been complete without the happy couple’s photogenic dog, Merlin!
The bride walked down the aisle to La Vie En Rose by Louis Armstrong, which added to the emotion of the day as it was chosen in memory of her late grandparents. After the beautiful, simple ceremony, a trip outside for some natural, romantic shots of the bride and groom in stunning countryside, and a little bit of a break for the happy couple to catch their breath!
