A whimsical, fairytale wedding hidden under the canopy of the trees, at Alnwick’s stunning treehouse
At the tail-end of last year’s busy wedding season, I had the pleasure of shooting Adam and Laura’s wedding. This is a stunning venue with some fantastic picturesque scenes and I absolutely loved taking photos up there.
The couple and their family and friends were all staying at the nearby Linden Hall, so this is where everyone met on the morning of the wedding: the place where all the excitement began. Adam, the bridal party and their awesome guests travelled from Linden Hall to Alnwick Treehouse in a vintage double decker bus by Cumbria Classic Coaches. Laura, however, made her way in a classic wedding car by Brooklands Wedding Cars.
The Treehouse Restaurant at Alnwick Garden is a cool venue for couples wanting somewhere with unique, rustic charm. This elegant venue is nestled under the canopy of the trees and literally wrapped in fairy lights, providing a real storybook setting for your big day. Adam and Laura’s wedding was an intimate affair, and a perfect venue to surround them with their nearest and dearest on their special day.
Laura’s beautiful dress was an Amanda Wyatt gown from Tillies Bridal Dreams in Rugby. Simone Whitehead did a fantastic job with her bridal hair and Paula Pace from Perfection Nail and Beauty finished Laura’s bridal look with some gorgeous wedding day make-up. The flowers from Emerald Forest were beautiful and simple. The bridesmaids carried large bouquets of the delicate gypsophila, while Laura’s bouquet of white roses was surrounded by more of the airy, cloud-like ‘baby’s breath’ to coordinate with her ladies. The couple’s wedding rings came from Kayes Jewellers and were the perfect seal for their marriage vows.
Breaking away from the traditional wedding cake, Adam and Laura chose a cheese tower from Northumberland Cheese Company to share with their guests. And why not? Who doesn’t love a good bit of cheese?
After their incredible wedding day, Adam, Laura and their guests settled in for a fun filled evening. The evening entertainment came courtesy of Red Wings, an awesome wedding cover band. These guys had the guests dancing the night away to all the popular indie and pop classics. Exactly what you want from wedding entertainment!
As a last nod to my fellow wedding suppliers, I have to mention the videographer from Absolute Media. John was a great guy to work alongside and I’m sure our paths will cross again at some point in the future. After all, the north east isn’t that big a place!
If you loved the look of this wedding and are planning your own special day, then please get in touch to discuss your thoughts. I am based in the north east but travel throughout the UK and internationally for destination weddings, so know matter where you have chosen for your special day, I’m happy to chat about your wedding photography needs.
