Rudding Park Wedding Photography – A stunning venue with an awesome couple
It is fantastic getting the opportunity to shoot at a familiar location. This was the case for Gavin who has spent the last 8 years in and out of York, the wedding location.
Ben and Holly were married in the picturesque city of York, at St Michael le Belfrey. A beautiful church in the centre of the city, neighbouring the iconic York Minster.
The ceremony was small and in the perfect location for an unforgettable wedding. All the wedding guests had been specifically handpicked to participate. They were either a friend or colleague of the couple, which created a genuine sense of intimacy.
The beautiful bride arrived at the St Michael le Belfrey donning a gorgeous Elizabeth of York lace gown and a vibrant Kate Mell bouquet. Holly was greeted by adoring bystanders in the centre of York, who were stunned by her beauty. With every hair perfectly in place by Charrity Hair Design, it was impossible for Holly to contain her smile.
St Michael le Belfrey held a particular importance to the couple, with Holly being an employee of the church. The church was a picture-perfect venue for Ben and Holly with its rich history and captivating surroundings. Furthermore, the couple’s Christian faith, which was a vital element of their day, was reflected beautifully in the photographs.
Holly told us,
“because our faith is so important to us, we would love to capture as much of the ceremony as we can – people’s reactions, participation, sung worship!”
The photographs of the wedding ceremony captured the essence of the couple’s love and faith in the notable church.
Off to the wedding breakfast we go…
The wedding breakfast led to a change in location, as Gavin made the jolly ride from York to the beautiful Rudding Park.
Rudding Park is a grade 1 listed country house set in a 2000-acre estate at Follifoot – a large two-storey mansion overlooking striking parkland with distant views of the Vale of York.
There Gavin was able to flex his creativity and shoot at yet another gorgeous setting.
The wedding reception was filled with personal touches with beautiful hand-made décor. All the decorations were custom-made by the bride and groom and their loved ones. The photographs caught the attention to detail and time that went into the handcrafted décor, taking a snapshot of one of the many charming elements that were seen throughout the day.
Another notable aspect of Holly and Ben’s wedding was the live band formed from university friends and the best man! The wedding came to an end with everyone dancing the night away!
