I Love doing a bit of York Wedding photography again!
Last week’s blog featured some York wedding photography, well the engagement shoot prior to their upcoming wedding. As I sit back with a cuppa and reminisce about the years I spent living in the beautiful city one wedding from last summer springs to mind. I never shared Becky and Fraser’s Yorkshire marquee wedding with you all so here’s your chance to see some cool York wedding photography. Grab yourself a cuppa, get yourself comfy and let’s think of warm summer days.
Becky and Fraser’s York wedding had a gorgeous garden party theme and featured metres and metres of vintage style bunting. Becky had always dreamed of getting married in her parent’s house so after their service in the family church they returned to their garden for a marquee reception. And what a fantastic wedding day it was! Apart from the brief chicken incident – where one of her parent’s chickens made a break for freedom – the day went by without a hitch. I thoroughly enjoyed capturing Becky and Fraser’s creative York wedding photography but unfortunately I missed the ‘chicken run’!
This stunning wedding really does show that a diy wedding doesn’t have to feel like one – the cake, the music, the decor nearly everything was handmade with the love of family and friends. They handmade their Wedding Invitations and the Order of Service cards. Two of Becky’s brothers were in the band that played during the church service, not wanting to stop at that they also played with a jazz band at the reception. And just to show what a musical bunch they all are, Fraser’s 13 year old sister sang a solo. Their brothers, sisters and cousins were all involved in doing reading and prayers during the ceremony, and all took on roles as bridesmaids, ring bearer and ushers. Becky’s Aunty Rosie made their cake and her wonderful mum sewed the massive amount of bunting. Becky even chose to wear her Granny’s veil to finish off her beautiful Andrea Bambridge dress. Everyone really was ‘hands on’ to help Becky and Fraser have an awesome family wedding day! This was definitely one where it was easy to capture some awesome York wedding photography.
Not only was this wedding an amazing homemade family affair it was a truly international affair too. Fraser’s best man came from Australia for the wedding, and their family travelled from California, Alabama, Germany, Zimbabwe, South Africa as well as Guernsey and Cornwall. Thankfully it was certainly worth the miles!
The few suppliers that were used all come highly recommended by the couple:
And of cause myself, capturing their York wedding photography in my signature creative style!
